Aluminium Industry Gathering organization was held on February 7, 2021 with the participation of analysts and academicians who are experts in their fields. Aluminum Sector, completed the last year with an export of 2.9 billion dollars, increased its target for 2021. Important issues and future expectations which are essential to the sector were discussed at the meeting. The Virtual Gathering started with global evaluation of aluminium sector.
The presentation was done one of the analysts of CRU; Mr. Shankhadeep Mukherjee who is the head of Indian Office. In his presentation, he talked about the global trade climate and also gave an overview of the aluminium industry at the meeting.
Then again, Gregory Wittbecker, one of the analysts of CRU, addressed the problems that the new Biden administration may face while evaluating the general course of the US economy and presented a general framework for the US aluminium market. Ph. D. Burak Küntay made a speech on the effects of the current state of the US economy and its future on the world.
Matthew Nolan from ArentFox, one of the lawyers of İDDMİB in the USA, gave information about the Anti-Dumping lawsuits filed against our companies in the USA and talked about the steps that can be taken.
Again, Ashley Wang, one of the analysts of CRU, talked about the general situation of the Chinese aluminum market and gave information about how prepared the Chinese market for the Green Agreement agreement. In the later parts of the program, Shankhadeep Mukherjee, evaluated the Indian aluminium market and he talked about how prepared India for the Green Deal agreement.
Then, Dr. Pınar Artıran made a presentation about Green Agreement that concerns the global economy and ecology. Later, Şahin Yaman from YaDa Academy talked about the current situation regarding global trade blockades and free trade agreements and shared his predictions about the future.
Finally, under the moderation of Hande Demirel, Prof. Deniz Ülke Arıboğan from Üsküdar University, and Prof. Asaf Savaş Akat form İstanbul Bilgi University, talked about Turkey’s and the world's political and financial shared their visions of the future.
