The Istanbul Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Metals Exporters' Association (IDDMIB) took a significant step in promoting international business collaboration by executing the India and Pakistan VTD (Virtual Trade Delegation). This notable event was held from October 5th to 15th, 2020. The meeting was characterized by the presence of 14 member companies, spanning various industry sectors, including Aluminum, Kitchen, Building Materials, Copper, Packaging, and Hardware.
The delegation's inception was marked by an informative meeting, conducted with the presence of distinguished participants. These included the Commercial Counselor from New Delhi, the Commercial Counselor from Islamabad, and Mr. Tahsin Öztiryaki, the esteemed Chairman of the Board of IDDMIB. Moreover, additional board members and representatives from the participating companies also contributed to the discussions on the first day of the delegation.
In the initial session of the India and Pakistan VTD meeting, critical details were communicated to the delegates. These encompassed key data points such as the delegation dates, our market shares, export and import data for the concerned countries, the specifics of subsequent meetings, and crucial factors that companies should be vigilant about during the event. This preliminary discussion aimed to equip the participating companies with the necessary insights and preparedness for the upcoming trade talks and negotiations.
Taking the virtual route for communication, bilateral meetings were organized on the Zoom platform, stretched over the ten-day event. Each of these meetings was meticulously planned for a span of 20 minutes. Throughout the course of the event, an impressive total of 287 business conversations were conducted with 204 local companies. Such a digital event not only facilitated seamless international collaboration, but also underscored the importance of digital platforms in enabling business interactions across the globe, particularly in challenging times.
